Main Idea
Students in the 3rd grade of primary school learn about the road safety and the compliance with existing traffic regulations and codes of road. They have to implement their knowledge regarding the road signs by using the scratch software. The main idea of this scenario is students to learn basic programming concepts.

Description
Introduction: Students learn about the road traffic regulations in the environmental education. (30 minutes)
Activity 1: Students visit the Hellenic motor museum which educate youth in road safety. http://www.hellenicmotormuseum.gr/
Discussion: Students discuss in class the importance of obeying at the traffic instructions and acting correctly at road signs. During the discussion students are encouraged to refer to the traffic signs and their meaning (10 minutes).
Worksheets- Activity 1: Students create a story regarding the road safety by using scratch software. In their stories they should include vehicles, people and traffic signs. (30 minutes)
Worksheets- Activity 2: Students program the characters of the story in order to move. (30 minutes)
Discussion: Students present their stories in class and a discussion takes place among the students and the teacher. All students’ questions should be solved.

– Choose a backdrop that contains a road (choose, paint or upload a backdrop)
– Choose sprites (vehicles, humans and traffic signs), (choose, paint or upload a sprite) - 2. Program vehicles and humans to move according to the rule implied by the traffic sign used in your story.
