Description

Αctivity 1: The teacher explains what coordinates are. The coordinate method is a way to determine the position of a point, shape, or body using numbers or other symbols. The numbers used to determine the position of a point are called its coordinates.
On a map, it is latitude and longitude.

On a chessboard it is a Latin letter and number (h5 or f8). With their help it is possible to write down moves of figures.

There can be three coordinates, for example: the address of a person in the city is the name of the street, house and apartment number; coordinates of the aircraft in flight – latitude, longitude and altitude. Coordinate line is a line with selected on it: positive
direction; the beginning of the reference; a single segment.

Αctivity 2: Discussion: Do you think an object can have four or more coordinates? Give possible examples of the fourth coordinate.
