Description

Introduction: Activate student’s prior knowledge by beginning the
lesson with a labyrinth activity.
Activity 1: Help the mouse to reach the cheese. Photo Labyrinth. (5
minutes)
Discussion: What kind of action have you suggested? (3 minutes)
Activity 2: Worksheet Linear Algorithm. Explain what can you see. (3
minutes)
Activity 3: Worksheet Conditional Algorithm. Let’s compare. What
are the similarities and what are the differences? (4 minutes)
Activity 4: One group of students create Milo, the Science Rover by
following the instruction below (10 minutes):

pdf

A) They use the “WeDo 2.0” software to program their robots. By
coding the algorithm. (5 minutes)
B) Students create the own task follow the examples (worksheets). (7
minutes).
Discussion: Students present the own artefacts. (5 minutes)
Reflections: Students discuss why algorithm is important. (3 minutes)

Worksheet Linear Algorithm

Task: Milo is going to friend’s birthday party. He so hurries, but suddenly stops. He forgets the present. He comes back. Create the program.

Worksheet Conditional Algorithm

Conditional Algorithm
Example

Task: Milo goes ahead, see a flower and stop. Create the program.
