Learn about the parts of plants and their functions. Give students an opportunity to understand what an algorithm is and why is it important by using WeDo 2.0.

Description

Introduction: Ask students to brainstorm what a possible definition for ‘plants’ could be.
Discussion: How do plants survive? (3 minutes)
Activity 1: Follow the link https://graasp.eu/s/i7til4 , read and do the exercises. (9 minutes)
Activity 2: Students work in the small groups and create Milo’s Tilt Sensor by following the instructions below:

Activity 3:
A) They use the “WeDo 2.0” software to program
their robots. By sending a message back to the base. (5
minutes)
B) Students choose the picture of flower from their device or
the program’s library and add the names of parts of the plant
to the message. (6 minutes).
Activity 4: Students choose the role within the group. The
teacher tells the pupils one word which is sent by Milo. The
pupils draw the picture of the flower. (6 minutes)
Discussion: Students present the own artefacts and discuss
why is important to follow the directions. (4 minutes)
Reflections: Students fill the blank Learning Reflections and
give the teacher. (3 minutes)
