Main Idea
| The main idea of this learning scenario is to help the students to understand how one object interacts with the other by getting triggered. We want to simulate the functionality of a robot sensor. When it gets triggered it sends a message to the main processor. Specifically, the idea of this game was born one day that a student was playing a game with balls and holes. The aim of the game was to put all the balls on the board to the holes. We decided to use Scratch. First of all we talked about Functions and we tried to understand the importance and usefulness of Functions. We also discussed about sensors. To create the game we used the block WHEN CLICKED which simulates the Touch Sensor. |

Learning Activities
Description
Teacher will draw a simulation of the board game at the blackboard. We will try to play the game with the students in order to understand it. The cannon follows our hand and when we click into the circle-hole a cannon – ball coming from the cannon will try to get into the circle – hole. We will discuss about the app and afterwards we will share with students a link.
(Duration:1 – 2 Hours)
PLAYING WITH A CANNON
1. Maybe it will be useful to draw the template into the board and try to simulate the game before students start to create it.
2. The students will receive a link that will guide them to a scratch template. At this template they will find one cannon and one little circle.
3. Now they will have to create another 4 circles and a cannon – ball and put it in the right place (Students should decide where the right place is for their creations).
4. Every circle has 2 costumes.
5. The students should find out what is going to happen to the cannon-ball when it touches the circle-hole. (It’s better to disappear).
Discussion
1.Would it be better if we had the circles – holes hidden and they only appeared into random places.
2.Would it be more interesting if we added points and a stopwatch to the game?
