Main Idea

Students are introduced to the concept of “lighthouse”, study their varieties, get acquainted with popular lighthouses in the world. According to the instructions, they create their own lighthouse.

Αctivity 1 «Meet the lighthouse»: The teacher introduces
students to the famous lighthouses. Explains the principle
of operation of lighthouses.

The teacher explains that lighthouses are equipped with a
strong light source and are usually provided with optical
means to amplify the light signal so that they are well visible
at night.
Αctivity 2 «Creating a lighthouse»: The teacher suggests
that you create your own lighthouse project as instructed.
Αctivity 3 «Discussion»: The teacher discusses the result
with the students.

Αctivity 2 «Creating a lighthouse»

  1. Prepare the necessary equipment:
    • 1 Arduino Uno Board
    • 1 solderless breadboard
    • 1 LED
    • 1 resistor of 220 ohms
    • 2 wires “father to father”
    • USB cable
  1. Consider the scheme you will be making:

  1. Connect the wire “father to father” cable to the Arduino Uno Board: 13 & i14
  1. Connect the wire “father to father” cable to the Arduino Uno Board: GND & h9
  1. Connect the 1 resistor to the Arduino Uno Board: h14 & h10
  1. Connect the 1 LED to the Arduino Uno Board: i9 & i10
  1. Connect the usb-cable to the Arduino Uno Board and your computer
